The Smith Music recording studio uses vintage recording style, so we can give the music the rich, open sound that only a large space can provide.
There are four recording areas, each with its own distinct acoustic quality. Bands record on stage in the studio proper, to recreate the feel of a live performance. Placing the musicians in this familiar element encourages a stage mentality, giving them a more relaxed, comfortable recording experience, generally resulting in greater success in fewer takes.
Paul Smith has been a musician for over 20 years, both session and freelance. With that experience in mind, he designed his studio to be accessible to the widest range of artists possible. Serving artists of rock, country, classical, orchestral and rap, to name a few, Smith Music has cut between 40 and 50 radio-ready albums and demos a year since 2003.
